Parent FAQ

Questions before you reserve

Clear answers about the 12-day Web-Controlled RC Lab Car workshop, schedule, pricing, seat confirmation, and what students take home.

Does my child need coding experience?

No. The curriculum was developed by a University of Washington professor and is designed for curious beginners as well as students with some experience. We guide students step by step while still giving them room to build, experiment, and problem-solve independently.

Is the workshop taught in English?

Yes. Instruction is taught directly in English, with clear explanations and hands-on support.

Will my child learn real skills?

Yes. The curriculum was developed by a University of Washington professor and is aimed at teaching real coding skills, practical electronics habits, debugging, and the confidence to control physical hardware with code.

What is our teaching mentality?

We want kids to experiment, make mistakes, learn from failures, and keep improving their own ideas. Students are encouraged to test, debug, ask better questions, and turn their own ideas into working innovations.

What will my child take home?

Every student takes home their own web-controlled RC lab car, a Sparkslab Kids Engineering Certificate and Prizes, and selected learning materials.

How is the seat confirmed?

Submit the reservation request. We confirm availability and send payment instructions. The seat is confirmed after the 50% deposit is paid.

Where is the workshop?

Peace Culture Foundation, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai.

What is the workshop schedule?

The workshop runs June 20 – July 2 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a break on June 26.

How does the partner-family discount work?

Families connected to partner schools, tutors and communities receive 10% off the standard 8,000 THB tuition, bringing the price to 7,200 THB total — only 600 THB/day.

What is the refund policy?

To reserve a seat, families pay a 50% deposit after availability is confirmed. Deposits are refundable until 15 days before the workshop begins, excluding any bank or transfer fees. Starting 14 days before the workshop begins, deposits become non-refundable because materials, staffing, venue planning, and seat availability have already been committed. The remaining balance is due 7 days before the workshop begins. Once the final balance has been paid, tuition is non-refundable. Families may transfer the seat to another eligible student up to 48 hours before the workshop begins. If Sparkslab Kids cancels the workshop, families may choose either a full refund or a free transfer to a future workshop.
