About Us

Small Classes. Real Builds. Patient Guidance.

Sparks Lab Kids teaches coding and robotics through small private classes where kids build something real with their own hands. Every student leaves with a working project they built and can explain.

Who We Are

Sparks Lab Kids is a small, American-led, English-taught coding and robotics program for kids in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai. Kids build real projects, like a Wi-Fi controlled RC car, with real code, real wires, and real motors.

We keep classes small and private on purpose. Students get help the moment they are stuck, and enough room to try things, make mistakes, and fix them.

The deeper goal is not just coding. It is the courage to try, make mistakes, fix problems, and build something real with their own hands.

Meet the Instructor

Meet August Selke

Our instructor brings hands-on experience in coding, electronics, robotics, and project-based learning. Students are guided step by step as they build, test, debug, and customize their own Wi-Fi controlled RC car.

August Selke

August grew up in the United States and studied at the University of Washington. He brings an American, mastery-focused learning style to the classroom, where students are encouraged to make mistakes without fear and to truly understand how things work, instead of just repeating what they're taught.

Experience
Multiple university hackathons (a winner at his own university), years of hands-on Arduino and electronics work, and coding across many programming languages. Has designed and built many websites.
Teaching
Taught a STEM workshop in Bangkok and in the United States, plus experience tutoring English.
Languages
English and Thai
Education
University of Washington at Seattle, Washington
Teaching style
Patient, practical, and project-based, with the American 'learn by doing' approach: make mistakes safely, debug, and build real mastery.

Parent Trust

What makes Sparks Lab Kids different for local families

Small classes, real projects, and patient guidance, all in an English-speaking environment that works for beginners and international families.

Real projects, not worksheets

Students build a real machine with real code, wires, and motors, and they keep what they build.

American-led, English-taught

An American instructor leads every session in English, with Thai available when a student needs something explained another way.

Small and private on purpose

Limited seats mean every student can ask questions and get help without feeling lost in a crowd.

Mistakes are part of the plan

When something does not work, students learn to find the problem and fix it. That is where the confidence comes from.

A finished project to show

The course ends with a friendly driving challenge, a certificate, and a car that goes home with your child.
